Minneapolis Fishing

Enjoy the outdoors with great Minneapolis fishing

Minneapolis fishing opportunities are very much abundant in the city because of its great number of lakes. As such, there are a lot of people who come to the city to spend some time fishing, whether just on the shore or aboard a boat to do some Minneapolis charter fishing. If you are one of these people, then you would be interested to know the areas where fishing could be done in the city and where you can even take your kids with you.

Fishing in Minneapolis is really a wonderful experience even if you would only be doing it on the shore. You can go to the fishing dock at Cedar Lake where there is an area where street water discharges go after rain storms. This area is a perfect place to catch some bass, northern pike or a musky. You can also do some charter fishing in Minneapolis at Cedar Lake to go get some panfish.

There are other fishing docks found near other lakes in the city as well where you can do your share of Minneapolis fishing, even just by the shore. You can go to the lagoon area that can be seen between the Lake of Isles and Lake Calhoun or even to Lake Harriet, where there is a fishing dock that can be found off its parkway and that of William Berry Park. Lake Calhoun also has a fishing dock that can be found on its parkway and on 36th St. W, which is a great area for getting a number of panfish. This area is also a famous fishing location for getting musky and is also great for fishing for crappies with slip bobbers. So, with these great fishing opportunities right on fish docks, you won’t even have to do some Minneapolis charter fishing to have some catch.

Of course, there are still other areas in the city where you can enjoy fishing in Minneapolis as well. One of these can be found in Loring Lake, where the fishing dock is situated at its southern end. Here, you can find great stocks of crappies, sunfish and even adult catfish that have already reached a weight of a maximum of ten pounds. Although you can get fishes this size quite easily when you do some charter fishing in Minneapolis, you will be amazed by what you can get by just fishing on the dock of Loring Lake.

Another great area where Minneapolis fishing can be done is at Lake Nokomis. Here, you can find two fishing docks, with one situated between 50th and Derby streets, which is at the southeastern portion of the lake and the other on the northwestern area. This other dock is off the parkway and 22nd Avenue. However, if you are not really satisfied with shore fishing because you want to get bigger game, then you could always go for Minneapolis charter fishing where you rent a fishing boat to take you to deeper fishing areas in the city.
