Airports in the Minneapolis area

Minneapolis AirportsAirplane travel to and from Minneapolis can be done with a great deal of ease. This is because there are a number of Minneapolis airports that you can make use of and these are not limited to the main airport of the city, which is the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport or the MSP. Other airports of Minneapolis include the Anoka County Airport. However, while these airports are available for use, more people are still more comfortable in using the services of the bigger international airport of the city.

Aside from being the most favored among all the airports in Minneapolis, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport is known to be the busiest as well as the biggest airport in the upper Midwestern region, which is composed of Minnesota, South and North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. It is also noted to be the 12th most busy airport in the US in the year 2006 and the 26th worldwide in 2007, when it comes to its number of passengers. As the biggest among all Minneapolis airports, it is also where the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Joint Air Reserve Station is based.

Situated 16 kilometers to the southern area of Minneapolis, the MSP serves 131 non-stop flights, with 14 being international and 116 domestic. Like all the other airports of Minneapolis, there are shuttles, taxis and buses that ferry passengers from the airport to different points in the city as well as Minneapolis hotels. Both terminals of the airport, which are the Lindbergh and the Humphrey terminals, are bordered by highway routes into the city. There is a shuttle bus that plies the route between both terminals that can be availed of for free. This kind of service may also be available in other Minneapolis airports.
